"At least she has obligated herself to eventually having the meeting."
Well, of course, she's eventually going to have The Meeting with Somebody A Lot More Savy Than a Bishop whether she likes it or not. So either way...

They are pals. They'll have a lovely time. They can talk about how he's leading the charge against Prop 8 in California, she can give him some pointers.

"At least she has obligated herself to eventually having the meeting."
Would it be cynical of me to think that somehow they won't be able to schedule it before November 4th?

Call me cynical, but this seems staged to me.

Two points: First, the conversation should be very brief. The Archbishop knows Pelosi's abortion record, so the message should be "do not to present yourself for communion until you admit the error of your ways and promise to uphold Catholic teachings." Second, the Archbishop should see this as the beginning of a conversation tour within his Archdiocese. Future conversations should start with Mayor Newsom and USF President Fr.Privett.

Quite so, gravey. Mr. Newsom has been misbehaving long enough.

now Princess Nancy gets to showboat on the steps of the diocesan offices though...
calls to mind images of Fr. Pfleger having a press conference before going in to talk to the Bishop, saying "he doesn't have the [cajones] to fire me."

Perhaps this incident speaks to the curious way my mind works. But we may look upon The Pelosi Edict as a Tipping Point in U.S. Catholic history. For the first time in many, many moons, a large percentage of our shepherds have spoken as one against statements of legitimate history. We may look at it as an invigorating moment for the wider Church in the U.S., much like the nomination of Gov. Palin to secular politics. After L'Affair Pelosi, things will never be the same. Deo Gratias.

That is to say, statements of legitimate HERESY. By Ms. Pelosi. My bad.
