Gravatar "Let's get Mikey to try it . . . Hey Mikey, he likes it!!"

Gravatar I can see the funny aspect of this photo, however, this is the late Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Athens who fell asleep in the Lord only a month ago, after fighting for seven months a case of cancer and therefore it might come across as disrespectful.

Gravatar Golly. This photo is (even might be) offensive? I need to look up "offensive" in the dictionary.

Gravatar It isn't the photo that is offensive, it is the timing that some might object to. No one is making fun of him, but with him being recently deceased, some might not understand that as well...

I actually really like the photo.

Gravatar If a picture is worth a thousand words, the words of this photo say good things about the man.
May he rest in peace.

Gravatar Sigh. I hope you'll republish this post in a few months or so, since it really is a perfect picture for captioning.

Gravatar This is the pic of the late Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece. He passed away not less then a month. As a Greek Orthodox reader of this blog I am very disappointed with this sit. I would browse this site al least 5 times a week. I will stop browsing this sit. Let's show some respect. May his memory be eternal.

Gravatar To be clear, I know you don't mean any offense... as John illustrates though, not everyone will understand.

It is a great photo. Maybe re-caption it as a "tribute"?

Gravatar Because I knew the man, I think he would have appreciated the humor of this--indeed very good-picture. So, Thomas, don't feel guilty of posting it inspite of the bad timing.

Gravatar This cake truly must have come from the Father AND the Son.

Gravatar Since when is posting a picture of a deceased man offensive?
Thomas just asks for a caption. Nothing else is said.

LOL at Jeff's comment.

Gravatar Yummy! Baklava! My favorite dessert!

Gravatar "Dear Lord: thank you for this free moment to enjoy the gifts of your creation."

Gravatar Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Pie.

Gravatar While Archbishop Christodoulos enjoys the chocolate cake in the heavenly banquet, he remains a bit disappointed that Geiko is still able to get him on his cell phone and try to talk him into switching insurance.

Gravatar What is the Archbishop actually eating, cake or pie? I hope I don't offend, but to me he looks bored. All sympathies over his death.

Gravatar I didn't know who this was before I read the comments; and while he is apparently recently deceased, I don't see how this photo is disrespectful. I really like his face, and it's a great shot - something about the blend of grey-bearded wisdom with the simple childlike enjoyment of his cake, and the ancient garb with the modern cellphone. Great photo, and may he rest in peace.
