Deal, that was funny...
How sad it is that His Holiness receives a call from interloping, socialist thug who relishes to advance the culture of death.
FOCA, executive order overturning Mexico City policy and stem cell research will all be done and attempted on January 20th.
Welcome to abomination, oops, I mean Obama Nation.
Hey, where is Kmiec??? still licking his Master's shoes...

Maybe, just maybe Obama might begin rethinking his position about things, if he's going to take the time to call Pope Benedict back. I just wonder, would a one-on-one session with this iron-eyed Pope (who only uses his powers for good) open his mind further? "Ve are armed vith the Holy Spirit und not afraid to use it!"

The more contact between the Pope and Obama the better, maybe some common sense will rub off.

Okay, so we're off on a better start than the Clinton administration. I remain optimistic... Keep praying, folks!

Holier than thou's lol. Using your logic we shouldn't be sitting on a table with a bunch of sinners on it, and you just remember that.

Thomas,
I don't think you understand. Nor do you understand the ways of God. The Pope congratulated Obama in the context of encouraging him to defend life and to be strong in restoring a culture that strengthens the family in justice. He also said he would pray for Obama. And in my parish the priests have taken this up, literally, and within the prayers of the faithful, say the follow:
May the Lord strengthen President elect Obama so that he sees the truth and works to dismantle the machinery responsible for taking the lives of more than 4,000 preborn children daily.
Think before you talk Thomas.

Most Holy Roman Crusader, Saint before death, man whose ear is bent directly to the Lord and the Lord alone, whom you see before you now in the Beatific Vision, please, we pray, enlighten us! Share your intimate knowledge of the Creator with us. Tell us now what the ways of God are, we beseech thee!

Roman Crusader,
I'm just pointing out that rather presumptuous sentence in your last comment. I kind of backfired on you. I get your point, but I also get AmP's. The "sinners at the table" has become a cliche that is mostly used by Catholics for Choice, Catholic Womenpriests, Vox Nova, and others of their ilk to justify their anti-Catholic positions. It's also used outside of the Catholic Church (see Episcopalians, PCUSA, Lutherans, etc.) for the same purposes.
I hope you see that calling others "holier than thou" just to turn around immediately and claim to have some sort of intimate knowledge of the ways of the Creator can kind of ruin what it is you're trying to say.

I'm just saying that since both Benedict XVI and Obama are heads of state that they need prayers. Thus Benedict giving congratulations to Obama is very simply that he(Benedict) is also a head of state as well as our spiritual leader whose country, the Vatican, has diplomatic ties with the United States. When seen in this light it is understandable why he would do this even though the differences, especially in regards to abortion, are evident.
Here's something else for you think about as well: As Christ's vicar on earth his every word not only carries a great deal of weight but could have powerful results in the long run.
