Gravatar Wow... women celebrating the degradation of women (and men).

Gravatar it's a good point Dave that i thought about adding to my post:

so, if men objectify and degrade women it's okay, but if women objectify and degrade women - well, they promote it.

basically ... everyone who does X is wrong, except me. when I do X, it's okay.

tragic.

Gravatar stupid radical femmies, these perfidious people, they never learn.

Gravatar Anonymous: remember, sin makes you stupid. When one sins, there are two options -- to repent, or to justify. The very fact that she works at PP means that she's justifying a lot, and the blinders are firmly in place. Massive prayer and sacrifice are required so that each of those broken souls can find the mercy God offers.

I'm certainly not justifying that woman or her kin -- I cannot even visit their blogs and websites for all the filth. They are a vicious crowd, to be sure. But they are to be pitied, not reviled. Peace.

ODE
TO
A
CHAPEL
VEIL

Oh lowly, little, chapel veil,
You are my dearest friend.
For when my hair's all mops and brooms,
You cover, end to end.

And when my hair's not curling right
Or when it sticks out straight,
You gently hold it all in place
And make it look first rate!

But feminist, they hate you so,
You lowly, simple thing.
To them you are so vile, not veil,
To praise Our Lord and King.

And passing by the Church of Seven,
"Autonomy's", their phrase.
They never know the joys of Heaven,
Such as, no bad-hair-days!

For lowly, lacey, chapel veil,
You tame my hair, so wild!
But truth-be-told, though I look nice,
It's all for the Christ Child.

Gravatar My point gsk, is it's not charitable to confirm someone in their sin.

Gravatar What sin have I confirmed? I said it's too painful to wallow in those websites, meaning that I find myself unable to read the scandalous words and imagine the pain of Our Lord. And yet I don't revile them. The dictionary defines "revile" as "to assail with contemptuous or opprobrious language; address or speak of abusively." Not helpful, nor becoming to a motherly heart.

If I put on a chapel veil, would it help them? I'm confused...

Gravatar gsk asked:

"If I put on a chapel veil, would it help them?"

No...but it might help you as your soul follows your body.

Gravatar Huh?

Gravatar Long-skirts, I love that ode!

Gravatar Hafa Chelu: My thoughts exactly ("Huh?")

The only enlightenment I can add is that I made my thoughts about chapel veils known on Father Zuhlsdorf's blog a few months ago and they didn't sit well with the "women ought to cover their heads and remain silent" crowd.

How that translates into this discussion about radical feminists and their misguided ideology evades me, although Miss Long-Skirt seems to think their vulgar porn is my fault for questioning the need to adopt veils.

Circuitous logic at best; an attack on my character at worst, but that's a molehill. "I'm a worm and no man" already, and can pursue humility without a head covering. I'll simply print out the ditty she offers, burn it, and throw the ashes on my head, like a good semite.

"Long-Skirts: Has your soul followed your body?"

Unfortunately, when sinning, many times, yes, and when in the state of grace absolutely.
