God Bless the Holy Father and his journey to France...he has an uphill battle, with a recalcitrant Muslim community and a nation that reveled in killing priests during the French Revolution...
They have become secularized beyond belief, primarily in the cities, but rural France is different...they retain Catholic values.

I'm a french catholic and I disagree with the last sentence of Carlos' comment. Catholicism is much more vivid in cities than in the countryside. I rural France lots of priest are from Africa or Vietnam (what is good to awaken parishes!). In cities you can find new religious communities...
