Good on His Excellency! Now, if someone could just give a lesson or two on having a spine to Mahoney and just about every Jesuit in America!

I wonder if Archbishop Burke will consider taking direct action against the Glennon Foundation if it is all dependent on the Roman Catholic Church for its federal or state tax exempt status? Tom

Actually, Keith, even Mahoney pleasantly surprised me right before Easter. He really came down on an anti-life Catholic legislator. I think it was on euthanasia...
The bishops are really in rare form! Let's pray they keep it up!

There is no longer reason for any style of abortion. It has become an issue of choice.

I am so proud of Archbishop Burke! He could use some support in the St. Louis online forum. Lots of Catholic bashing in general over there. If you feel so inclined, go join in the fray.

Burke is taking a beating over there, but those people are not with the Church anyway.

"A Catholic institution featuring a performer who promotes moral evil gives the impression that the church is somehow inconsistent in its teaching," Burke said.
Great comments and so true. Especially Sheryl Crow whose liberal views are so well known and who campaigned in Missouri for embryonic stem cell research.
Note to Washington Post: "Church" as in the Church is capitalized. It is a proper noun. (Of course, the Washington Post *always* capitalizes "Prophet" as in the Prophet Mohammed.)

I think we should coin a new phrase: "Burking up the right tree."

Gabe, I also laugh when the secularists who run the media are always very careful to refer to muslim towns as the "holy city of." What a joke. Cowards, rank, hypocritical, polically correct cowards. Tom

Tom- Exactly. The mainstream media's anti-Catholic bias and pro-Islam bias is always there. For example, why would the AP not capitalize in the following quote "Church?" It is apparent that Archbishop Burke is referring to the [Catholic] Church--one entity--with "Catholic" implied:
"A Catholic institution featuring a performer who promotes moral evil gives the impression that the church is somehow inconsistent in its teaching," Burke said.
Yet they deliberately put "Church" with a small "c."
They would never do that with the "Prophet."

Hooray for Archbishop Burke! A shepherd who is not afraid to speak the truth!
As for Sheryl Crow-pompous 'you-know-what'....stupid 'celebs'.
