Even investigation of amniotic fluid isn't 100% for recognition of Down Syndrom, there are many cases in which children were born totally healthy (even doctors warn against Down syndrom).

Gravatar I find it ironic that Teddy Kennedy, abortion supporter extraordinaire and all around fake Catholic, is the brother of Eunice Shriver, whose lifelong mission has been to support the Special Olympics. Even God can't resolve a contradiction but the Kennedy Family can apparently. Tom

Gravatar My DS niece is an absolute joy! She can brighten anyone's day with her smile.

Gravatar Wow. I'm stunned. Its like a backdoor eugenics program. My wife's cousin has DS and is a wonderful, sweet person. I often think she'll see the beatific vision sooner and more clearly than I will.

*sigh*.

Gravatar It's no surprise. Planned Parenthood's Eugenics background is well-known around the pro-life movement.

That of course makes these sad facts no less sad.

Gravatar That is so sad that parents would choose to kill a baby with Down Syndrome for their convenience rather than have the child.

My cousin has Down Syndrome, and she is such a pleasure to be around. They are really a gift from God.

Gravatar That is why organisations like the CBR and CCBR are so important, www.abortionno.org and www.unmaskingchoice.ca respectively.

Until people are more horrified by the knowledge that they are violently killing a child than they are of the prospects of carrying their pregnancy to term, abortion will continue.

Gravatar Choosing to have a child with severe mental and physical problems is a moral atrocity. There's no way to get around the fact that Down syndrome causes suffering in everyone involved, especially the child. The parents who support bringing more people burdened with this illness into the world only want to extend their and their children's suffering to everyone else. They should be named for what they are - evil.

Every child should be loved and valued - but a fetus is not a child until he or she is born - and what kind of perverted monster do you have to be to want children to suffer their entire life? Only the religious dogma behind the hypocritical "culture of life" is capable of sinking people to this level.

Gravatar NINETY percent?!

Oh, c'mon. That number has got to be inflated.

Or perhaps 90 percent of women in New York who are given a Down syndrome diagnosis have chosen to have an abortion...

Gravatar HeroicLife, do you know any children with down syndrom or their parents? I do. It's only gross or willfull ignorance that could make you say such things.

Second, what changes about a "fetus" from the seconds it is within it's mother's womb to when it is outside moments later? Do you know that a fetus is actually stronger and more aware shortly before it is born than shortly after?

Only the inability to honestly face facts could lean one to so callously abandon the very attitudes and compassion that reveal us to be human. I hope you're willing to reflect on what you've said further. Peace.

Gravatar Also, I would invite you to watch this video:

http://www.americanpapist.com/20...-see- today.html

I hope it might reveal to you the kind of love that parents can have for their disabled children. And if that child is just going to die anyway, isn't it better that it die loved? I would hope that the people in your life would love you no matter what you were suffering. Or do you think suffering is stronger than love? I would say that it is Christian hope and faith that confirms our knowledge that love is stronger.

Gravatar HeriocLife, Your statement has to be one of the most chilling and evil statements I have ever read in my life. I have known many families with downs-syndrome children and they always appear joyful and appreciative of the gift of life. I'm surprised a person with your views would even read American Papist let alone comment on it. Tom

Gravatar "a fetus is not a child until he or she is born"

HeriocLife has spoken! The case is closed!

Oh, wait. His unsubstantiated statement is totally illogical.

"Only the religious dogma behind the hypocritical "culture of life" is capable of sinking people to this level."

Only the abandonment of religious dogma (and right reason) which is behind the hypocritical "culture of death" is capable of sinking people to HeriocLife's moral level.
