If there's anything that I've learned about reading Newsweek's On Faith column, it's that they sincerely don't know anything about religion. Seriously. They're totally ignorant and WAY loud about it.

Great fisk. Utlimately, thank God, the damage is done. I was on vaction and went to a typical middle-of-the-road parish and the priest read a statement correcting Pelosi's errors. If she had stayed political, priests would have remained silent not wanting to do politics from the pulpit. By waxing theological, Pelosi's big mouth woke up untold numbers of parishes crying foul.

Just a quick ine - "conception" was arbitrarily changed by the OB/GYN guru's recently (last7 or so years I think). Can you say "agenda" - has everything to do with the church stance on contraception. Otherwise the OB/Gyn's wouldn't care! nothing is done in it's own vacuum. Sheesh - I never knew who this guy was. Sometimes I like being less in the know.

I agree the comments are scary (reader beware), but the fact that newsweek/wapo hires this guy and gives him a visible online platform to make matters worse ... that's also frightening and disappointing to me.
