I know Cardinal Sean has been persistent with his invitations. Since I don't see myself being able to get to Rome any time soon, it would be (and I don't think this is an exaggeration) the highlight of my young life.

I think that now you will have to do a countdown on the AmP Timer ahead of WYD 2008, doncha think?

Come on you guys.
Get behind Louisville. We really need Benedict to come here (he can do NY, Boston, Philly and BaltoWash anytime, but he can do Louisville/Bardstown only this once -- on the 200th anniversary). The laicized chancery here in Louisville is so sunk in simony that it won't even invite the Holy Father -- even after the Mayor of Louisville inquired, at my instance (as, among other things, a former County CFO), about the possibility of inviting him to visit.
The Mayor would love to have the Pope, but the chancery staff wouldn't.
Incredible!

Louisville?
Well, from what I read about WYD, the Holy Father may have an interest in race tracks . . . you wouldn't happen to have one in Louisville, would you?
Maybe you could try to play up that aspect . . .

Thomas, NYC isn't that far from Boston. You could always take the Amtrak from Boston to NYC.
It certainly would be nice for Pope Benedict to attend a TLM that was celebrated by Cardinal Sean...oh wait, there's not much interest for that in New England...
