Of course she does not hesitate to tell the pope what to do. It fits nicely with popular opinion. We want the church to teach teens about sexual morality. We don't want the church to teach the adults about sex. We certainly don't want the church to push morality past it's traditional boundaries.

I would kindly remind Minister Turco that the Pope is not telling anyone what to do. He is simply reminded them that actions have consequences, and that if they make choice "A", then result "A" follows. If they make choice "B" (or should I say plan "B"?), then result "B" follows.
If they opt to dispense abortifacients, ignoring their own moral conscience, then they place their souls in jeopardy. That's not "telling people what to do," it's simply reminding them of the consequences of their choices. Actually, quite a nice thing for a religious leader to do.

Funny how the Pope isn't telling the pharmacists what to do, just what options they should have, and it's the governments that are telling pharmacists what to do, by trying to remove any "moral objection" clauses.
Truly, some people are clueless.

For the record, the Pope was not talking about Plan B.

Hello! Earth to Minister Turco! Here's a hint: the morning after pill is abortion! It's a violation of human rights. The Pope is simply separating sin from the sinner.

Yes, Mike, please see my earlier post: http://www.americanpapist.com/20...-

Plan B doesn't stand or fall based on the Pope's speech, it stands or falls upon whether or not it is abortifacient.

Yes, AP, I realize you have been appropriately precise. I was posting in response to Tim's comment.

Thanks Mike - I realize too that the Pope was not talking specifically about Plan B, I was simply making a little rhetorical jest...perhaps mis-aimed.
