After reading the document I was wondering where they got "wounded" from. And yes I would think that proper reporting would differentiate the main document from the commentary.

But they are not interested in proper reporting, Jeff. As liberals, they are Marxist-Leninists, and therefore will use any weapon to attack the Holy Church. The CDF should not have provided them with weapons, and therefore should not have issued the second document at all -- let it stand on its own.

The media are lazy, sloppy, and biased.

But with all due respect, it does not serve the Church well to put out documents such as these without also sending out an army of informed and telegenic spokespersons who are made readily available to explain these matters in the type of sound-bites that the media can comprehend and broadcast.

It should not have to be done, but it DOES have to be done. The sad reality of our time is that the media need to be spoon fed, and if you don't get out in front of the reporting on this type of event its meaning will be distorted beyond recognition.
