The journalist was probably confused by the abbreviation "Msgr." and just simplified it to Mr

Msgr. Duca is a big supporter of the pro-life committee in Dallas and helped greatly with establishing the post-abortion healing ministry about 10 years ago.

I briefly met the Msgr. a few months ago, seemed like a very good man. Much more important than my own is the quality of his seminarians. I was very impressed with the academic and spiritual formation that was described by the seminarians at Holy Trinity. Of course all the classes are taken through the University of Dallas, but it did seem like an interest in philosophy and theology was being cultivated at the seminary as well.

At the risk of appearing pedantic, if you're going to use the Italian name for the daily bulletin of the Holy See Press Office, it really should be "bollettino," not "bulletino." This isn't at all to knock your coverage, which I think is fantastic, but just to let the stickler in me address this annoying little spelling issue...

I was always impressed with his homilies, the reverence he shows at Mass, and the fact that he has real hymns at the Seminary (and none of this Marty Haugen stuff!). Definitely one of my favorite priests at UD. I just always forgot to go to the Seminary for Mass because everybody goes to Cistercian.

Msgr Duca is also known around Dallas for his excellent cooking. At any large diocesan event involving food, he always provides (and/or auctions off) his famous sausage.
This man is beloved here: personable, humble, orthodox, inspiring to those considering church vocations; in short, everything one wants in a Bishop. Hooray for Shreveport!

Why on earth has Shreveport already received its new bishop when the neighboring Diocese of Little Rock has been without one for much longer?!?

I'm so glad to hear that Monsignor Duca is another good one. Slowly but surely, things are getting better.
I pray that Benedict XVI lives to be 100.

My suburban Dallas parish is without a pastor at the moment and Msgr Duca has been a guest presider more than once. I haven't really met the man except to shake his hand after Mass, but I have been impressed with the quality of his homilies. It seems like Shreveport is very lucky.

I cannot tell you how glad I am to hear that Bishop-elect Michael Duca is orthodox. I met him the other day and he seemed incredible. This has put a great deal more hope in my Easter Season. Thanks for all the info, Dallas folks!
