Many of my friends in the University of Toronto pro-life club saw Bella last year when it was shown in Toronto, and I've heard only good things about it from them!

I saw a screeing of this movie on Sunday at Franciscan University, and was part of the 5 min. standing ovation. They expected 200-300 people at the screaning around 2000 people showed up. It was the best movie ever (maybe outside of the passion.)
The message of this movie needs to be heard by society. Lives have literaly been saved already! Spread the word!

If you get a hold of a list of showings, inparticular Los Angeles, California, please post it or link to it.
I've got to see this...

Same here. Anywhere around Southern California. It sounds worth a drive if need be.

Eduardo Verįstegui? I know who that is. I've seen him in some telenovela (telenovelas are like soap operas, but much more popular in Latin American than soaps will ever hope to be in the US). I didn't know about his being a "devout Catholic" - hadn't heard about any conversion at all. Well, good for him.
Is the "Bella" in the movie title somebody's name or the Spanish word for "beautiful"? Or both?

I don't want to give away any more of the plot than I already have by answering that question. Let's just say your Spanish is good.
Eduardo Verastegui has undergone a conversion, who wouldn't after spending the month they were filming with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal?!
BTW I'll be promoting the film, as I promised Leo Severino, so my blog will contain the dates and locations premieres. Be the first to see "Bella" in your group of friends!

I saw it last summer at a screening in Washington. Got to meet the stars too (Ali Landry, Verastegui, etc.). It's an outstanding movie. Must see. No surprise that it won the People's Choice award at Toronto.

I saw it last month at the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal Catholic Underground. It's FABULOUS!
Also, look for a cameo of the Friars....when we saw them we all burst out laughing:)

Ohhh, Eduardo Verįstegui... I remember him as well from some Mexican telenovela, I forget which. Like Nutcrazical above, I was completely unaware he was such a devout Catholic, that's so wonderful! Let's pray that the movie does well at the box office, films like that certainly deserve it!

I saw this film in a preview showing at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary along with my fellow seminarians. It's an incredible film with a wonderful message and beautiful work. The producer spoke to us beforehand and afterwards. At several points he broke down in tears. If for no other reason than his continual support for St Charles Borromeo Seminary this movie is worth your money when it is released; however, once you see it you'll want to tell all your friends - I guarantee it.

Just a friendly reminder that Wikipedia slants towards the left and is biased against Catholicism.

Hi everyone - it's leo from the film. just wanted to thank you all so much for your continued support. looks like, with God's grace, we're closing distribution soon and may have an August 15 release date (please check our site, as we are in the process of updating it for theater info / how to help). i'm also hoping Thomas Peters from this site can send me an email with his contact info since we may be in the Detroit area soon and i would love to meet / thank him / invite to a screening.
Thank you mostly for your prayers. God bless.

What a wonderful movie and wonderful message! We need more movies of this type to conteract lots of the trash that's offered today. The only thing, as a Senior citizen, it seems the movie skipped quickly from before the birth to the beach scene where the mother meets her 5-year-old daughter. Whatever happened in between? Did I fall asleep in the movie? Plan to see it again tomorrow with granddaughter, so maybe I'll understand better.

No Henrietta, you didn't miss a frame. It's a huge lacunae in the narrative... the story itself is left offscreen. More of my thoughts on the movie, and the marketing campaign behind it, here.
If you want a movie that deals with the "in between", in a fresh and non-sentimental way, the movie to see is Juno.

Thomas, This is Grandpa Morelli. I have been reading your blog on and off for several weeks. Interesting to say the least but a bit zany at times.
A St.Louis priest has been appointed to be the attache for the Vatican Permanent Observor (Archbishop Migliore) recemtly. His name is Father Philip Bene. He is a Canon lawyer who studied in Rome. Further
he was ordained from the Pontifical
seminary in Rome. Before he left for
New Tork, he informed me that he both knew about your Dad and also reads you Blog from time to time. Keep up the good work.
