The Pope canonized the first Indian Saint last Sunday. Sr. Alfonsa of the Immaculate Conception (1910-1946). Hopefully, this will strengthen Catholics in India during this terrible time.

AmP, have you covered these?
Bp Seratelli (Paterson) on FOCA
Joint Statement from Bps Farrell and Vann (Dallas/Ft Worth)
From the latter:
Therefore, we cannot make more clear the seriousness of the overriding issue of abortion – while not the "only issue" – it is the defining moral issue, not only today, but of the last 35 years. … let us be clear: issues of prudential judgment are not morally equivalent to issues involving intrinsic evils. No matter how right a given candidate is on any of these issues, it does not outweigh a candidate's unacceptable position in favor of an intrinsic evil such as abortion or the protection of "abortion rights."
A new, comprehensive tally would be appreciated! (I'm going to be seeing my bishop on Wednesday…)

Ignatius Insight posted a link to this video of an interview of Nazi sympathizer and founder of Planned Parenthoodlums, Margaret Sanger. A very young Mike Wallace did the interview. Disturbing stuff. In some ways, at least, it's like Obama in drag.

Moni -
Argh! That makes me mad. You can't tell me that those priests didn't know what the church teachings were before they were ordained. What did they think - that they'd be able to talk the Church Universal out of her 2000 year-old dogma?
Poor Bishop Morlino. I hope he hangs in there. All those foot-stomping parishioners who have problems with Catholocism should maybe not be Catholic. Now all they've done is made a public spectacle of themselves and their disobedience and dissent.
Argh. Well that got my Irish up.

Check out what was published as a letter in the Wisconsin State Journal in my hometown and home diocese of Madison. From what I gather, "Call To Action" had a significant hand in the letter. Here is a copy of the actual letter from the blog "What does the prayer really say": http://www.wdtprs.com/images/
