or

An Army of One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church

Gravatar Having a poster is one thing; joining up is another. Let's see how many of you do so...

Gravatar Michael: Perhaps you should be the first to join?

Gravatar Anna Marie, I should have mentioned that I served in the U.S. Navy for five years (including the last four years of the Vietnam War) and proudly received an honorable discharge as a Catholic conscientious objector, following several visits to Nagasaki. Patriotic talk is cheap; walking the walk...including out the door, in good conscience, is another thing.

Gravatar Michael, I've never heard of that, a serving soldier/sailor being honorably discharged as a C.O. Can you point us to something that verifies/explains that process?

Gravatar Yes, Ed, you can check the applicable directives in both the Department of Defense and the respective services. Since my own discharge in 1976, I have helped several other active duty servicemen obtain C.O. discharges, and in two cases, had the assistance of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. I am currently the Director of the Office for Catholic Social Teaching in the Archdiocese of Detroit, and regularly visit Sacred Heart Major Seminary for various meetings; I'd be happy to meet you and tell you more about this! Michael Hovey

Gravatar Interesting. Do stop by!

Gravatar I'm flattered that you want us to join up, but we mostly can't. We're old middle-aged people.

But thanks for telling us we don't look our age. :)
