Gravatar Obama is not reflecting true Christian values. He is indeed twisting Scripture to fit his political agenda. I can't believe all these Bible Christians are silent on the way he used the Sermon on the Mount to justify abortion and diverse views on morality. He uses one part of Scripture against another part and discredits it! Dr. Dobson was right to point out his confused biblical interpretations and manipulations. He has sweet talks and people (i.e. Christians) blindly follow him without analyzing what he is saying. I think he is a fraud on his "Faith and God".
I hope people wake up and see it!

Gravatar Obama, like so many Christians, is able to dismiss the teachings of Christ for political expediency. This is true for so many Christian politicians who say they are "personally against abortion" but officially for it. These folks need our prayers and they need to pray themselves that they might understand how their actions run contrary to the call of Christ.

Gravatar I didn't realize Frank Shaeffer had devolved into a complete nincompoop. He has managed to trash his father while living off his name and legacy. If Frank's name were Bill, he would be an unknown quantity.

Obama's given his response to Dobson.

Gravatar First: Thanks to you Thomas for gathering the links to this variety of perspectives on the Dobson-Obama tilt.

On Sen. Obama's use of the Bible . . . I'm inching toward the conclusion that Sen. Obama is not as brilliant as we all were led to believe when he burst on the national scene in 2004.

Ok, his convention speech in '04 was eloquent and moving. . . his book (Dreams From My Father; A Story of Race and Inheritance) was a compelling story . . . but on so many fronts he has disappointed.

As for the Obama "Bible" speech to which Dr. Dobson refers?

Couldn't you picture that speech being given by a college freshman who had been exposed to Leviticus and Matthew for the first time and was just bursting with the desire to show off his "knowledge?"

Will the media catch on to -- and expose -- Sen. Obama's superficiality?

I'm not holding my breath . . .
