The "open to life" bit is a mistranslation of Humanae Vitae. Marriage and the marriage act must remain ordered (or destined) to the transmission of life. That's closer. Whether something is ordered to life is pretty much a yes or no answer. "Open" can mean unlocked but closed, ajar, half open, or wide open.

Woo-hoo, there's a new poster from the USCCB. And the website is almost Anglican. Humanae vitae "articulates Catholic beliefs about human sexuality..." No, it delineates the objective nature of human sexuality and supports it with Revelation and rational thought. It's not a matter of beliefs, but resolutely held truths.

Nice idea, though. At least they're trying.
