Just imagine the effect on the West if China declared an official policy of being not just tolerant but welcoming to its citizens who are religious! If Catholicism was welcome or at least given freedom to grow unmolested such that a Chinese could be both 100% Catholic and Chinese without qualm... 1 Billion people scattered across the globe would suddenly look at China not so much as a menace but as a hope...
