You should contact the Archdiocesan press office and see if anyone would like to be a comment, or even see if the Archbishop would talk with you about this. There might be a no but if enough bloggers took the direct route of contacting the office, we might get more of a response.

Oh, and I think forwarding this to the secular press would be interesting, too.

Elaine, the archdiocese might avoid one blogger's questioning. Hopefully more than one blogger does it. It needs to be alot of people, not just bloggers. Send e-mails & letters to the CDF too.
