Tom, I have been reading your blog for a while now -- a couple of years, in fact. I think you do some good things here. However, you exude a self-inflated ego. Lines like "I'm very happy to turn this coverage over to Carl" are just obnoxious. Mr. Olson has been busy about commenting on public events and theological issues since, perhaps, before you were born. You're not handing anything over to him. And, truth be told, he has chosen to comment on the more important issue -- even while your so-called "Pelosi-Gate" is critically interesting, too.

I just wanted to fraternally correct you. I think you're a great kid. I think you're doing some good things with the blog. Just calm down, realize you're young, and be a little bit more humble. You might take a cue or two from Michael Phelps, here.

For the most part I think that Scott W. is absolutely right. Stay the course: You're bringing us some awesome coverage. But, hey, isn't humility a virtue -- isn't it so St. Joseph like? Why bother being pumped up when you can practice the virtues of the saints?

I am definitely not saying that you're a bad guy or anything like that. But if you can do all of this and be humble -- hey, that's a win-win combo.

From my experience blogging, it's clear that different folks have different comfort levels when it comes to perceived "tone" and "attitude".

Carl Olson is a friend with whom I've corresponded and hopefully understands I mean nothing disrespectful.

My main point in this post was that I hate duplicating work and whenever I find someone who has done something better, first, I'm very happy to direct my readers over to them.

That said, thanks for the observation, charitably phrased, and do remember I have an "open door" email policy. :)
