VATICAN CITY, April 26 (APcom) - The Vatican confirms that Pope Benedict XVI has made himself 'available' an has infact accepted the invitation of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moom to visit United Nations headquarters in New York.

Fr.Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press Office, confirmed today the Holy Fahter's acceptance but said a date has yet to be set.

He added, "It is not foreseeable in 2007, because no other foreign trips are planned this year."
