I think "Tower of Babel" is a particularly apt name. Has anyone wondered how long such a society, located where it is, surrounded by the neighbors it has, and fraught with cultural and religious tensions can last intact?

The Middle East is riddled with deserted trading cities. Will Dubai escape this fate?
