So answer the question -- did von Hildebrand tell you it would be today? Let us know; is she making up stories? I would hope not, and expect she didn't say it.
Considering that it turned out several people heard (and posted) the same exact report, why exactly am I getting the special treatment? Truly the attention is flattering but I'm trying to discover the underlying cause of it.

You see, you think I didn't respond to it elsewhere. How do you know I didn't? That's a bad assumption. But I find it interesting that you reported it, and tried to act like it was secret information given to you -- a big scoop-- but you wouldn't tell us it was from her directly but you wanted us to assume it was. Now where did you get it? Was it from von Hildebrand? If it was, then it tells us something about you (did she tell you not to tell others, or did she say tell others, etc?) and also of her; if it was just rumors you heard and not from her, then it tells us about you as well. This is why it is important not to play the rumor game.
Is it bad of me to enjoy seeing how much not knowing this irks you? Probably. The only reason I can see so far to not play the "rumor game" is that some people don't know how to handle it. Try not to take it so seriously, for starters.
