Having spent 10 days in Beijing in the summer of 06, I can REALLY appreciate this new subway. I have never been on such crowded roads or highways anywhere in the world before - 17 million people and 2.5 million cars in a relatively small geographic area. It is literally sensory overload. The existing subways helped get around, a bit, but suffer from every deficiency the article notes.

On a completely different topic, but b/c I don't know where else to post: that video at the top is not only the best video I'll see today, I think it's one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's a true witness to the beauty of life, the power of love and Truth, and the faithfulness of God. Wow. I'm still in tears.
