Taken in that unfortunate context, "Catholics for Free Choice" is an oxymoron - much like "military intelligence" or "government aid" or "women religious."
Just let me know when you get all the faithful to agree on definitions of objective and subjective. Or even to agree on who the faithful are... Oh but you already know the definitions because you are not being subjective. But maybe, just maybe, your understanding is more subjective than you realize...

So what is your brand of Catholicism lil'whey?
The Catholic faith deals with objective realities. How they should be applied is often subjective. Lil whey seems to have lost their way and gotten those confused!
As the post said, a well-formed conscience is an objective reality. This is true. That's because the True Faith is an objective reality first.
Many relativistic 'Catholics' seem to think that a "well-formed conscience" is just when their conscience feels good about how they've formed their conscience. That's nonsense.
Some people have convinced themselves that there is no objective truth. This allows them to sedate their consciences and blithely believe whatever they wish. This is what might be called "The Soft Road to Hell". These people need our prayers. Desperately.
I think Catholics who make the ludicrous claim that I am on crack and those who rally in support of such an accusation lack altogether any sense of objective reality. That is an objectively wrong brand of Catholicism. It is predominantly based on hate rather than love. People who feel good about that kind of Catholicism are extreme relativists (us good / us assured of heaven vs. them evil / them going to burn in hell) who lack a well formed consience.
whey, it's interesting that when someone disagrees with you and shows a pretty strong argument why the whole thesis of your argument is wrong (i.e., that there are different "brands" of Catholicism) that rather than provide an argument in response, you resort to whining about "hate." In our brave new world of enlightenment and open mindedness, apparently, expressing an opinion that is remotely based on traditional morals and values is "hate speech."

And I am so glad you realize that you share the same brand of Catholicism as readers of Commonweal, National Catholic Reporter, and the like. Just like the Wanderer folks espouse exactly the same kind of Catholicism as you. And you are you and we are we and we are all together. Yea right.
lil whey- You're a tad on the sensitive side. Tends to be that way for your ilk- emphasis on peace/love/tolerance. Unless you get criticized and the Huff Machine is started up- well I huff puff. Like most libs, of course. And for the upteenth time- Abortion is Issue 1A on the Church's agenda. Nothing else equals. Get with the program. Otherwise, that nice Unitarian spiritual supermarket might meet your shopping needs.
Brands of Catholicism? What is this, the Pepsi Challenge? There aren't "brands" of Catholicism. There is Catholicism (adheres to Church teaching and is loyal to the See of Rome) and then there is everything else, which may as well be Protestant.
