Gravatar I'll tell you what gives me the willies: that there can be such significant changes on such an important decision in so little time so late in the day. How DO people make up their minds these days?

Gravatar It all depends on the last commercial they saw on T.V.

Gravatar Keep praying!

Gravatar Your "interesting" link goes right back to your post. Here's the correct link.

Gravatar Aha and oho. Given that such a teeny tiny percentage of American Catholics sample our blogs, quite an interesting development. Perhaps the yowlings of Kmiec and Co. aren't convicing their brethren. And shall we forget the 18 million votes that went to Hillary this primary cycle? Has Obama secured them? Has Joe Biden regained a brake on his mouth? Or received one for the first time? No, no, a zillion times no.

Gravatar Let's storm heaven with our own "surge" by praying a novena to Our Lady of the Rosary, as in Lepanto.

Fr. Corapi says to start Oct. 27 to Nov. 4.

Gravatar What I found most interesting about those poll results are these 4 items:

Voters aged 18-24 are 74% for McCain, 22% for Obama. Even though the poll cautions about a small sample size for this demographic, it is still very interesting!

Income level does not seem to matter very much.

People categorized as Religion=NONE are hugely in favor of Obama (77% to McCain's 13%).

Finally, people who display the American flag are in favor of McCain, while those who do not are very much a fan of Obama.

Gravatar Your permalink to this post is screwed up. It's a file:/// link.

Gravatar I sat next to a life long Hillary supporter recently on a flight and she spent the whole time explaining her agony about this election...she's a PUMA and despite being socially liberal across the board, she really couldn't bring herself to vote Obama. She kept saying "me and my husband are among the 'undecideds'" By the end of the flight she concluded she'll vote for McCain.

For her it came down to just not knowing the real Obama - it's all rhetoric and no accomplishment. She'd like to HOPE that the CHANGE he'll bring is positive, but kept saying "but we don't know...what did he actually accomplish in Chicago, in Illinois, in the US Senate...except run for the next level of power?"

I never tipped my political hand but kept mentioning my listening to PBS and the "Diane Reims show" so I think she felt at ease with a fellow "moderate".

My point is...if she's typical of a PA democrat this race could be much closer than most polls suggest. She was UNDECIDED until that flight yesterday.
