I have been thinking about writing about this on The Black Cordelias... I resisted the temptation when the "pact" story first came out - everyone was writing about it, and something seemed off.
As it has been revealed to have a bit of a hoax element, I am trying to figure out what to make of it myself.
One wonders if this isn't a sort of back-handed backlash (a counter-culturalism) against a culture that is largely anti-fertility and encourages young men and women to NOT have children until they hit their thirties?
The AP gets it wrong, again... I know of 3 high schools within 10 miles of my house with day care centers (north of Boston and I'm not counting Glouchester).
