I am very happy that the Holy Father is speaking to this issue. As a pharmacist who left retail pharmacy for some years over this issue and now have a conscience clause in place, I was very dismayed at what the Connecticut bishops did. Yes, I know this is happening in 'Catholic' hospitals including the one in my town and our bishop is aware but the open and public stance spells jeopardy for those Catholics who do follow the Holy Father and teachings of the Church and who have a conscience clause in place.
