When the rubber meets the road, US Catholic Bishops (as a whole) won't stand up for life.
There is no retreat on abortion because the American Hierarchy has already surrendered, and were helping the enemy during the fight.
Bishops: If a man were walking into the Church nursery with a knife, and was promising to kill 1/3 of the children, what would you do? What if that man were a Catholic and were proposing legislation to do exactly that, nationwide?
At the least, would you allow him to receive Communion? Natch.

Bishop Zavala says we are not a single-issue church. He says issues such as "racism, torture, genocide, immigration, war and the impact of the economic downturn" deserve consideration alongside abortion.
Could we remind the good bishop that abortion is genocide? (I am quoting from the article you post from CNS)
