He has a really beautiful voice doesnt he? No mistakes or lack of professional skill, and he's guilty of small amounts of both, can really overcome that fact can they?
I love it. This is one of those moments where our loving God with his infinite patience and good humor suddenly springs an unexpected delight, long in the development, on us all. How typical of Him to use as his instrument someone that noone else would expect.
I also thought the look on Simon's face was priceless and ultimately quite moving. That cynical armor just evaporated didnt it. The look of disbelief then turned to genuine, unmasked enjoyment. Yes, ladies and gents, he has a heart after all ;-) Gotcha. Knew it.
I wonder if this will have any permanant effect on him and all those who witnessed it. Special performances, like art have been known to have that kind of power. I hope so.
May their brush with beauty and joy lead them all to its ultimate source.

Yes, it is awesome. It is divinely beautiful, especially since it is cloaked in such humility!!!!

Thanks for the shout-out, American Papist!
The one thing that I really like about Paul Potts is that from his demeanor, his actions, his words, he really appears to be a truly humble and genuine guy.
In the video, I especially like watching the face of Potts: he first has a sickly face before he begins... then when he begins singing he looks up and devotes himself completely to singing, and his face appears as if he is oblivious to the crowd around him... and then when he's done, he lets out a hugh sigh as if he is completely drained of all energy.
