"The fact that the luminaries of the Catholic pro-Obama cause categorically refuse to dialogue with bishops and other Catholic intellectuals is telling."
When/Where did this happen?

That does sound strong, SDG, and I'd like to see some evidence for it, too.
Keep in mind, SDG's question is yet another example of how ONLY the Right considers itself bound to observe the laws of logic and evidence and proof, so naturally, we are basically the only ones who challenge one another's accuracy. The Left says, almost always, whatever suits the occasion or the cause.
Once I saw that, as a friend remarked in college one evening at dinner, there's no one more consistently inconsistent than a liberal, I have seen it verified countless times.

The director of Obama's catholic outreach has ducked out of every appearance he has committed to with Catholic interlocutors who don't already agree with him. Obama has never met for a private meeting with an American bishop (McCain has several times). Doug Kmiec did one radio interview with Al Kresta and that was his last. He just does TV now, etc.

Okay, that's a start, but yours is a "universal assertion", so only one exception is needed to disprove it. I can think of more than one, or so I seem to recall.

Where is prayer & faith in all these frenzied discussion? We have to ask our God-fearing people to pray for God's will to be done in this election. We have to ask our own people who repent of their abortion to atone by speaking against abortion.
Humane Vitae is right in being against artificial contraceptives because it leads to abortion. We need to pray that the Sanctity of Sexual Love stays within Traditional Marriage and abstinence be preached for all other premarital (and no extramarital) relationships. The cleansing has to go deep...What did Jesus say about "lusting in the mind"?
McCain visited Our Lady of Guadalupe on July 4th and received blessings Quote :"After describing an altar painting to McCain the monsignor gave him a blessing, with one hand on the senator's forehead and another on his shoulder. During the blessing, Cindy McCain stood next to her husband with her head bowed and her eyes closed." http://blog.washingtonpost.com/

Let us renew our knowledge of how powerful is Our Mother known as Our Lady of Guadalupe and why this is most crucial to appeal to her, Our Lady of the Americas at this time for McCain's success. Blessings are very powerful but the time to spread this message is now.
Please visit http://sancta.org/ and read why the name Guadalupe and why she plays an important role in this elections.
You may copy my whole message to spread to all others. Begin with a prayer...remain in prayer and end in prayer for those who read will understand and act upon it. If each of us offer a rosary to ask for Our Lady's intervention (as she did at the Wedding Feast of Cana) she will ask her Son,Our Lord.
Read Bible passages in my Username.
God Bless all of us.

The counter-argument is that McCain probably succeeded by Palin in the first four years would be a terrible and irresponsible choice. It's too bad, Catholic Democrats are taking Catholic Republicans seriously enough to discuss this nonsense. Individual Catholics and groups should be doing something about abortion. Working for Republicans is just stupid, but Karl Rove must be thrilled.

Which bishops? I recall reports that he met with Cardinal Rigali in Philadelphia and Archbishop Chaput in Denver. Also, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Demetrios in New York. If you want to verify those or look for more, gentlemen, start your search engines!
