David Rickens is hardly a light weight. He has provided strong leadership in Wyoming. He was among the founders of Wyoming Catholic College. As the article mentioned the meat of his homily was a discussion of Augustine. Naturally the press focused on his opening and not the substance of his homily.

Bishop Ricken is from my hometown! I wish we could have him as bishop. Sometimes, I find myself asking "can anything good come out of Dodge City?" We sure could use him here.
