Gravatar If that is a PCLT official there, I can only guess that he is showing B16 his attempt to set Canon 331 to music.

Gravatar "You do know that not everyone is anxious to return to a full Trinitine Mass, Your Holiness."
"Vell, let's see. If you hum a few a few bars, Ve can fake the rest!"

- or -

"Ve are most appreciative of zhis sheet music, but it is Our bruder who has bad eyesight, not Us!"

Gravatar Chant along with Papa Benny! Everybody! Faaaaaaa!

Gravatar Papa Benedetto checks out the preliminary copy of the new Hymnal that he will order to be used in his next Moto proprio, banning the use of every other hymnal (esp Glory & Praise & Gather) except that put out by Adoremus.

Gravatar "Begin the Beguine? Was is das, 'Begin the Beguine?"

Gravatar Lol brassband...a Julio Iglesias song?

Gravatar Um . . . Cole Porter.

Gravatar Really?? There is a Julio Iglesias song by that same name...probably Cole Porter is the orginal and Julio did a remake.

Gravatar Don't know about Julio, except that he's a pretty good, very good, uberromantic Cuban crooner of the 90's; believe he's got a famous crooner son who's even better. Cole Porter, on the other hand, wrote music in 30s-40s for Broadway musicals and movie musicals--he wrote "Night and Day," "I've Got You Under My Skin," etc. Actually, I think it was Artie Shaw, a 40s bandleader who was infamous for remarrying several times, who wrote "Begin the Beguine." At least he made it famous. (This all occurred before Vatican II :>))

Gravatar B16 is presented with the oldest known copy of 'Kumbaya' in its original 11th century form of Latin and Gregorian chant --- NOT.

Gravatar The guy is Pier Ferdinando Casini, a remarried-divorced Catholic Italian politician, chairman of the Executive Committee of Centrist Democratic International (whatever this means). He has led this Exec. Comm. to see the Pope. I hope that the gift he is presenting to the Pope has not been torn away from an ancient book in some Italian library.

Gravatar Or rather, they're sparing trees but not cows.

(If he's holding a typical fragment of a Medieval music manuscript.)
