I would be very surprised if it were May 5th. May 5th may be the old feast of Pius V but the current feast in the Church is April 30. The church DOES have the right to change feasts.
B16 is concerned with unity in the Church and one reason for the MP is to further this unity and bring about a more reverent liturgy in keeping with VII authentically.
May 5th would be like saying that the REAL feast of Pius V and the Church made a mistake. In fact, the problem of 2 calendars is a sticky point. It's not necessary to have the old calendar to have the Tridentine Mass. It CAN be offered with the new calendar.
Besides May 5 is a Saturday.
It's the feast of St. Vincent Ferrer for the Dominican Order as of 2000.

Is this what you are saying:
You heard it from Alice von Hildebrand who heard it from His Holiness himself?

What I don't understand is why Alice von Hildebrand, having been told this by the Pope, would feel it appropriate to leak it. I should think she would let the Pope make the announcement, if indeed she were privy to such information.

AmericanPapist, this is unrelated but here's a cool video about 2 Catholic senators debating the role of Faith in politics: Sems. Chris Dodd and Sam Brownback.

Brownback is loyal to Catholicism, whereas the other senator was not.

Thanks Andrew, I managed to find the complete vid after clicking through your link. I found the firsst vid's added background music to be annoying.

Yes, who exactly is it that told you? Were you listening to more rumor mongering? Like this?

Gossip is a sin, folks. And notice how it is gossip and constant change of dates and sources that we have around the so-called Motu...
Or did you hear it from the constantly-changing-dates of the Remnant?
Why? Why follow rumors and gossip? What's the purpose?

A Non- I don't think you understand what "gossip" is: idle talk about the personal affairs of others. It is not speculating about when a Pope will release a document. By your definition any talk of politics would be considered "gossip" and would be a sin.
For example, speculating about who a candidate will choose as a vice-president would not be gossip and a sin, and neither is speculating when the Motu Proprio will be released.

Thomas,
If I read the website right, Dr. von Hildebrand was apparently at the conference. Did you in fact hear about her alleged conversation directly from her?
Please answer. I'd love to sleep before Saturday!

That's the way it initially looks, but in reality what was being said it he found out from Welborn who was relating the rumor she heard. And yes, this is gossip (it is more than guessing dates, it is claiming dates).

Nope A Non, I was actually personally invited to the conference. But good try guessing my sources. You're a regular Sherlock Holmes, you are.

btw, A Non, since you've appointed yourself the guardian of propriety in public discourse on my comment threads, you might also want to checkout what St. Thomas says about backbiting (blackening someone's good name falsely) being a mortal sin:

Still have not cleared anything.
You said you were told this at a conference. You did not say who told you at the conference!
If you are trying to say von Hildebrand told you, you need to write that. It doesn't say that. And you never answered the question when OTHERS made it clear they didn't understand if that is what you meant.

Thomas,
Did or did not Dr. von Hildebrand relate the contents of her alleged conversation within your hearing?
I'm not sleeping yet, my boy!

Apparently this post was a "joke." I wonder if the "Call to Holiness" rubbed off the blog author or not...
