I'm offended that an article involved Catholicism in some remote way and Fr. Reese was not quoted.

What is going on at the NYTs?

Gravatar btw, props for sticking it to feministing. I was subscribed to the blog for a while for a laugh, but I couldn't stomach it anymore.

Gravatar What an amazing article on the NYT (your link is broken btw). I didn't read the feministing blog, not all that interested so I can't judge. But what wise, wise advice that gentle priest has to offer (I've been married for over 20 years--first husband).

I'm bookmarking this for my 18 year old son, he needs to read this.

Gravatar link fixed - sry about that.

Gravatar Look at the categories that Samhita put this post in: analysis and sex. Apparently, marriage is a subset of sex, and not the other way around.

Gravatar His advice makes perfect sense to me!

Gravatar It does make perfect sense, that's why it's being so attacked. I fear Blaise is right, and marraige is only to be tolerated as a byproduce of good sex, no more and no less.

That last line in the article makes sense, eliminate all the bad apples and there isn't much left.

Gravatar Your URL is broken again.

Finding the article on the Feministing site, it has a lot of comments, and all except one that I saw were supporting the priest and his advice! Only one commenter agreed with the Feministing author--all other chastised her for making comments that a priest couldn't give advice based on the fact that he was celibate, etc.!

Gravatar I absolutely loved the article. I am happy that my boyfriend is "ideal" and hope that other women read it and take it to heart.
