I saw this news story yesterday, and I got a good laugh out of that line as well! I understand what the writer was trying to do -- i.e., clear up any possible confusion over two "Paul" references (one being Ron Paul, the other being the city of St. Paul, MN). But the way it is written makes it sound like the clarification is needed so that we don't think that St. Paul, Minnesota is named after Ron Paul. I like Ron Paul, and I voted for him, but I'm pretty sure that the city is named after a slightly more famous Paul. :)
