Since when do we send papal SofS to disaster areas? This smacks of political photo-ops. Wanna send condolences? Send a telegram. Wanna send money? Try a wire transfer.
Just wait till another disaster hits, and they don't get a Vatican dignitary. The press secretary will have a new round of explaining to do about why one group deserves it and another doesn't. I'm sorry, but there it is.
