I agree. I was all ready to vote third party, until I heard Biden's "Gird your loins" comment. Now I'm voting for McCain.

I'm not sure what to think of SDG's assessment. My distrust for McCain is too great. However, each voter should assess their situation appropriately. People forget that the outcome is determined by the electoral college. If you live in a blue state (ie, MA, NY, CA, etc) your vote for McCain will be worthless. It is winner take all in 48 of 50 states and Barak Obama will be receiving all the electoral votes in these states. Voting for McCain in that situation, therefore, will be throwing your vote away. One might as well use that opportunity to cast a protest vote for a 3rd party candidate.

Alois,
Are you working for Obama? I live in Connecticut and I don't agree with you. My "protest" vote will look better if I'm protesting Obama by voting for the only candidate who has a chance. My wife and I are voting, that will negate the votes of our next door neighbors who are voting for Obama. After that ominous comment by Biden, my mind is made up. It's not worth the risk getting the violently pro-death Obama and his friend who just promised that there will be some sort of crisis that will test him and will need our support even if it doesn't appear like the right thing to do at first. I'm sorry, but I can't trust a guy who lies about his participation in the killing of babies or downplays it significantly, there is no way I'm going to trust that he's doing the right thing when it doesn't seem obvious in a crisis.
If that didn't scare the **** out of you, I don't know what will.

My fear of Obama outweighs my distrust of McCain.

If biography and honor matter McCain should win in a landslide. The media has worked hard for decades to erase the American character and moral compass. Tom

The time for thinking about 3rd parties is immediately after the election not before it.
For starters, it takes a minimum of 2 solid years to run for a House seat. Much more for a Senate seat and a decade of subtle planning and scheming to run for POTUS.
3rd parties are doomed because they keep trying to slap together things too late to be effective. Better to run for local office first, win a seat or two and gain credibility. Then go for the Federal level.
Of course, that'll work only when most operatives aren't paying attention. False-flag operations are the name of the game when they have their attennae up. It's fool hardy to attempt 3rd party runs with out a huge amount of preparation.
As for this election....while the popular vote doesn't matter for Electoral votes, they do matter for PR. Bush's win in 2004 came with a surplus of over 2 million voters which helped blunt the whole "they done stole it again" argument. Gore's 1 million plus popular vote surplus in 2000 was what kept that charge going for as long as it did.

I'm in clear agreement with SDG: I am convinced that any vote that lessens the chance that Obama will win is a vote for life.
There is no question that McCain is the best chance to defeat Obama. Therefore a vote for McCain is the best choice.
Unfortunately, I live in Oregon, which has a next-to-zero chance for McCain to win. So, I'm left asking, "What do I do?"
