Yes...this diminishes the Nobel reputation which apparently does not require that one walk the walk. Gore in 2006 paid $30,000 for electrity and natural gas for his Nashville mansion....20 rooms...8 bathrooms. Almost half the house is bathrooms. What is that about. Anyway the issue is framed to let the rich not sacrifice as long as they pay to plant trees....which means that Trump will plant trees on his real estate and raise the selling price even more when he flips the piece. It's like paradise and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil....they can't lose while they berate others....who have one bathroom.
Look man, global warming is real, even our President recognizes that. The fact that Gore chooses to invest his money in a mansion is irrelevant. That fact that his actions might help lower carbon emissions on a global scale more than pardons his own consumption of natural resources. Besides, there are plenty of reasons why a huge public figure (who is still guarded by Secret Service agents) might have a huge house. He and his family aren't the only ones who use it.
Bill, does Gore's energy inefficient home thereby disprove the totality of the work of the IPCC? Does his inconsistency negate the potentiality of the threat he describes? Does a sinning Christian disqualify himself/herself from preaching and spreading the Gospel? Is the Gospel discredited because no man can live up to its standard? Are facts contingent upon their appropriation in the lives of individuals? Sounds like bad logic, ad hominem and a sprinkle of relativism to me.
Gore is only interested in power. As a former constituent of his, we found out as soon as he got into the Senate what his goals are. He quit listening to the people. We in his home state did not vote for him for President.
CO2 reduction campaign is only a huge scam on his part to get that power. And water vapor is the major greenhouse gas. What vanity to think that we can have a huge effect on weather and climate! Not with our puny technology. Why can't he weather be controlled? Because we have no power to do so. This is the stupidest campaign, but also a typical facist one. Al Gore, living the life of ease tells the poor of the world that they cannot develop their own resources or live with sanitation and drinking water because it all causes more CO2 emissions. he says we must become poorer and are not allowed to move beyond our village while he jets around the world preaching his anti-human gospel. He pretends that the earth is his goddess and human life must be sacrificed to placate the earth.
