Gravatar During the pontificate of John Paul II the head of the
CDF (Cardinal Ratzinger, of course) had an audience
with the Pope every week, I believe. But I suppose
they had a much bigger job of stable-cleaning in
front of them then is the case today.

Gravatar I'm HIGHLY skeptical that they don't meet regularly and frequently.

Gravatar "Vilhelm- vat is goink on mit your friend Frau Pelozi? Has she flipped her vig?"

Gravatar Ratzinger was always more than the CDF head. JPII discussed pretty much everything with him. Bertone has that role now.

Gravatar I'm sure they meet more often. But remember, the summer is now over, and everyone's done with vacations.

The entire Catholic world seems to come to a halt one school's out.

(Not that that's a bad thing!)

Gravatar When I see a fly on the wall, I squish it.

Gravatar Hmmm. Perhaps official visits are more significant, especially if announced. Who knows? Perhaps something, perhaps nothing... let the speculations fly... an ex cathedra on abortion would shake things up in the media.
