The article refers to the Tridentine missal including a prayer for the conversion of the Jews on Good Friday. They neglected to say that the modern missal also includes this petition in one of the ten solemn intercessions for the liturgy on Good Friday.

Gravatar And didn't the 'newspaper of record' look like s--t this morning when it had that lengthy article written from Rome by its hotshot ignoramus Ian Fisher and did not contain a single word about the Wednesday afternoon meeting at the Vatican on the MP, with the Pope joining Bertone and the bishops? And Paul Badde had it all on DIE WELT online before 5 PM EST Wednesday - and KathNet had it shortly thereafter! Ah, the trouble with US correspondents sent abroad who do not have other language skills! I'd slit my throat in professional shame, bushido-style, if I were Fisher.

AND NOW FOR AN UNABASHED COMMERCIAL! EXCUSE MY NERVE! - I hope you take a look at the English section of the PAPA RATZINGER FORUM regularly because we do carry translations from the Italian, French, German and Spanish media as soon as we can get hold of a story. We had our translation of the full Vatican bulletin - not just a paraphrase - on the MP this morning within minutes of its posting. And we have the promptest translations of Papal texts, too, no matter how lengthy, such as his Q&A sessions. And please feel free to compare our translations of Papal texts with those of Zenit, AsiaNews, or even the Vatican press office (when they have one, that is).

Can you believe Osservatore Romano - which Mario Agnes has turned into a joke of a newspaper - used up one-third of its front page yesterday to publish the six-sentence, 20-line MP on the Conclave rules, and did not bother to post even an 8-point (type size) translation in Italian, which is the language of the paper????

But don't get me started on the EGREGIOUSLY SERIOUS lack of professionalism in the Vatican press services!
