Gravatar Good for Pope Benedict for taking on the drug dealers and his solid message throughout this trip about giving up hedonistic lifestyles.

I've been really impressed with Pope Benedict during this trip and am proud he is our pope. I like the pictures that you have been posting. He seems like a very warm-hearted person, unlike the cold intellectual the MSM has tried to portray him as.

From the Reuters article:

I therefore urge the drug dealers to reflect on the grave harm they are inflicting on countless young people and on adults from every level of society," he said in a speech to recovering heroin and cocaine addicts at the Farm of Hope (Fazenda da Esperanca) rehabilitation center in the rural town of Guaratingueta.

"God will call you to account for your deeds. Human dignity cannot be trampled upon in this way," he said.

They need to be told that.

Gravatar The photo of Benedict hugging the children is sweet; he's mellowed out just enough with the little ones. (Somewhere his old friend John Paul is smiling.) All the more reason God's German Shepherd dares to stand against the drug lords.

Gravatar I think so far his address to the bishops & cardinals of Brazil is the most hard-hitting - perhaps a preview of his address to the assembled conference of latin and south american bishops??

Gravatar Right now I'm watching Pope Benedict pray the rosary.

What a sad "church in the round" style for the altar.

Gravatar The pope has begun his address.

Gravatar "the pope loves you" ... and the audience explodes, interupting him. he deserved it, he got up to acknowledge their cheers. :)

Gravatar ... become "profoundly missionary"!

Gravatar The pope is exiting and greeting the crowds outside.
