Here is what I see as key to PelosiGaffe, and what others have missed:

For the first time the debate is now about WHEN LIFE BEGINS. Previously it has always been "saving women" or "a woman's right to choose" or "a right to privacy."

The primary issue SHOULD be, "When does life begin?" If life begins at conception, Roe v Wade should be over turned immediately and all citizens should receive due protections. If life begins at conception, all abortion is murder.

For the first time both sides are arguing on the same issue: life begins at conception. And that's an issue that the pro-life side is guaranteed to win.

Everyone who has ever bought a pack of condoms, and every woman who has miscarried after only a week or two, knows exactly when life begins. Conception.

For the record, and maybe Ed can help with this, I have always wondered the following:

Why hasn't a municipality or state simply passed a law stating, "All life begins at conception and all persons receive full protection of the law in from the moment of conception."

It would seem that such a law would require the courts to take up the matter in terms of human life, which would almost surely be a pro-life victory overturning Roe, Doe and Casey.
