As always, thank you for your House insight. I love the show, even though House can be ethically insane.
I'm really excited for this next season, since it's the only show that I watch weekly.
Any guesses to what # will stay on the show?

Danielle,
I won't spoil it for you, but your question is answered in the bonus material of the Season 3 DVD set. :)

I was surprised thought that you didn't mention the House/Mormon doctor dialogue in episode 2 of this season. That was an interesting exchange with House quoting scripture to get the Mormon to drink to give a reference point. Though I bet Mormons across the country groaned with the "Magic underwear" reference - which I found pretty funny. I don't think House's atheism helps atheists much since even when he gets off good lines like the faith vs. reason crack.
Though I love your last line "There's always hope, even for House. He can't help being human, and humans like acting well."

The plot line for the first episode (the mistaken identity) is based on an actual event that happened near Ft. Wayne, In. Students from Taylor University were involved in a horrific accident a year and a half ago. It was only after a few weeks did the doctors realize that the identities were confused.

oh my - Jeff, I completely forgot about that! I had intended to write on it and it slipped my mind. Sometimes I shouldn't blog after a long day. :( I'll fix my oversight tonight.

If you are going to update the post, add this to the reference for the new assistant to House: "It is your dream job, just not your dream job description." What a great line.

Brian, I've already watched that. I mean which person or people do you think will become an addition to the cast?
I said "what #" because they don't mention their names. Like, #26 would be the old guy.
I like the old guy. I hope he stays on.

Danielle,
My mistake. I thought you were referring to the number people from the "old cast" returning.
Mea culpa.

I know that I wouldn't realistically agree with House, but when watching the show I find that I side with him completely, and am increasingly annoyed by the writers' attempts to have both Cuddy and Wilson change him.
I like for House to come up with his own answers, and cannot stand the manipulative nonsense on the part of Cuddy. Wilson's antics are at least more from the viewpoint of a friend (like the guitar heist) and somewhat humorous. But Cuddy's rampant, "You're enabling him!" after this long becoming resurgent is irritating, IMHO. Let House be House, which is when he is at his best.

I have to agree with Lex that the "You're enabling him!" was getting annoying. Especially when she knew that he needed someone to bounce off ideas and that someone's life was at stake. But, I think in essence, it was to force House into realizing that he's not as good without a team.
Wilson more or less pulls pranks to get House to think about it on his own (which he would've anyways).
Right now, IMHO, the writers are using Cuddy and Wilson as catalysts to bring back the ducklings.

You know, it's strikes me that the treatment of House is a little like that of Jack Bauer. How often does the guy have to prove he's right in order for those around him to just listen to him?
