I think you are quite right in this analysis. Well put.

Well, what do you expect the Bishops to do with regard to Speaker Pelosi at this point?
They've certainly made their position clear . . . she's have fired back that she disagrees with them.
Should we expect an ongoing volley back and forth?
But from a public statement perspective, mightn't it be perfectly appropriate for them to rest on what they've said (understanding that her own Bishop might have something to say to her about her reception of Eucharist, etc.)?

I understand what you mean, AMP , but ofcourse, the reality is, Christians are always ahead...even if it does not appear to look that way. But yes, this is an excellent opportunity for Church leaders and all Christians to teach the TRUTH.

I disagree...the correction should be made by her Ordinary. Archbishop Niederauer is expected to speak on the issue in his September 5th column in the diocesan newspaper. Ideally, Niederauer would publicly ban her from the Eucharist then. If he does not, Egan, Chaput, et al could take the matter to the Apostolic Signatura, where the recently appointed prefect is most likely to be sympathetic to the bishops' cause.

There's one solution to this: PRAY THE ROSARY for the bishops and for the Madam Speaker.

Indeed, we all should be praying fervently that the bishops use this as a teaching moment, especially the Bishop of San Fransisco, and that the Speaker sees the light and changes her position.

The solution is excommunication. The Catholic Church is in a position of either fishing or cutting bait. They either make it stick in a way that leaves absolutely no room for discussion, or they take their dogma and go home. The Church needs to slap Pelosi and Biden and every other baby killer in public office hard enough to make their heads spin or they will lose the chance to make real progress on the issue. In fact, this needs to go all the way up to the Pope. He needs to be seen backing up the American Bishops and showing solidarity with them.

My friends, this week Their Excellencies demonstrated the courage to speak up. Many on this blog are most grateful. As such, I ask you whether you have the courage to thank them?
I encourage anyone who truly appreciates this teaching moment [and it's many future implications], to take a moment and write/email/fax a letter of gratitude & support.
Join me, in echoing those beautiful words, "Well done my good and faithful servants!"
