The Pius XII controversy will linger just because of its juiciness. Even though the charges can be refuted with tons of evidence. Big deal. Bravo to the Vatican for greenlighting this trip. No doubt emphasizing the significance of Benedict, formerly a very reluctant teenage Nazi draftee named Josef Ratzinger, meeting actual Holocaust victims. May stimulate the Nazi Pope nonsense that emerged following his succession to John Paul. But you can't control what other people say or write of you. Let our Holy Father continue his exemplary actions and that will do just fine.
