I'm looking for a comprehensive site that lists up-to-date and extensive employment opportunities that benefit the Catholic church.
Especially jobs available for someone with an extensive graduate education in philosophy.

How about
1) Good sources for nifty Catholic Christmas ornaments
2) The ever-loving pandemonium over ND's announcement that it's not sacking Charlie Weiss.

The new and 9 times over budget Capitol Visitors Center is also politically correct and downplays the importance of faith. http://salesianity.blogspot.com/...ol-

That should be no real surprise these days.

What is your opinion of the fundementalist concept of 7 judgements? They claim that the white throne judgement in Apocalypse is only for unbelievers. This does not square with the bible or Church teaching.

Anyone know where I can listen to some good Advent songs? I would like to learn some, but I am rather musically inept - so I need more than just a reference to a hymnal.
Thanks!

The Plaxico Burress story. The gift that keeps on giving. Started out weird enough, keeps getting weirder. A metaphor for The Spoiled Clueless Elite Athlete. Guns, nightclubs, the whole scene. As ESPN Radio's Colin Cowherd notes- nothing good can happen after 2:15 A.M.

There are many good German Advent songs, "Wachet Auf", "Maria Durch einen Dornwald ging", "O Heiland Reiss den Himmel Auf", "Macht Hoch die Tuer", "Es kommt ein Schiff Geladen" and "Tauet Himmel den Gerechten". "This is the Record of John" is an English one.

Or we could discuss the latest pro-gay message from the USCCB.

It's becoming impossible to lampoon the film arm of the USCCB, because they do it all by themselves.

I heard about a new movie yesterday called Doubt about a nun accusing a priest of abusing an African-American student.
In other news, unfortunately, a former priest in my diocese was today accused of molesting a boy at a local Catholic Elementary School about 5 years ago. The priest, the diocese, and our bishop are all being named in the a lawsuit. That was all over the front page of the paper today, of course.

Sleepless in St Louis and praying for the online prayer requests at the website of the Archdiocese of St Louis. The contemplative nuns in the area take these prayer requests, pray for them, and post them online (unless requested not to). More here: http://www.archstl.org/requestaprayer/
Anyone can request prayer, anyone can pray! It always puts my relatively petty worries into perspective.

Well, we were very happy to walk into the Cathedral of our Diocese last Sunday and find purple candles and vestments. The blue from the past 10 + years was no where in sight.
Heard through the grapevine that it was our Apostolic Administrator Bishop who "suggested" that blue was not an advent color.
Pray for us that the Holy Father chooses a good, orthodox Bishop for us, one who will continue cleaning up the mess left behind by years of neglect by the previous crowd.

I agree with the above comment about the USCCB and their review of the movie "Milk". Does the Vatican know about this????

Christopher, thanks for the news about the Episcopal converts. More good news indeed. I'm currently Episcopalian and taking RCIA class, hoping to be recieved at Easter. I wish we could get an Anglican use here in Michigan, but hey, we get so much more in many other ways. I'm currently learning the beauty of the Latin Mass and looking forward to attending High Mass on Sunday. I will certainly check out your blog.

I'll second Emily's comment. I want to hear more about this movie Doubt. It looks like a classic anti-Church movie.
