I find it a little odd that a blog which celebrates ultramontanism objects to using a photo of the Universal Pastor in a news story about the church.
On the contrary, I object to projecting the accountability of unltramontanism into cases where the Pope in fact has statistically insignificant involvement.
One image in the book features a guardian angel hovering over an altar boy with a priest lurking in the background.

Not that I'm an art critic, but the beard of the guy on that pic just screams "Fire Island."
Remember kids, if Father starts using words like "chotkes" in his conversation, run like mad!! :)
You're concerned about the beard, when the poor guy is clearly suffering from a broken neck! Trying turning your head like that! And why is the Angel clearly female?
And while children are taught to mistrust priests, they remain at a statistically greater risk from molestation by their fathers, uncles, and the guy who works at Walmart.
Both angels, in fact, are clearly female.
I'm not sure if I'd rather the angels' asexuality misrepresented or have the artist mess up an attempt at depicting something more androgenous.
Likely, the artist is subliminally stating that women are safe to be around and not men.

Eww, that drawing of the priest is creepy. Very "YMCA."
Everything I learned about Catholicism, I DID NOT learn from some pointless-waste-of-time diocesan coloring book. And that seemed to be the preferred method of instruction in Catholic school.
