Wow! I just came back from Mass in the Baptistry here in Florence. I go regularly and am always struck with awe as I look up from time to time during the liturgy. Mass is held on weekdays at 10:30 and 11:30. American (and all) Catholic visitors to Florence should make time for it. It's truly an experience (and they keep the crowds out before and after for as long as you want to stay and meditate).
