Louisville's gain would certainly be Knoxville's great loss if Bp. Kurtz were to get moved up there. Of Tennessee's three bishops, I'm least familiar with him (I live in the Nashville diocese and go to school in that of Memphis), but the times I've seen him, I've been very impressed. Our three bishops concelebrated a Mass in Nashville for Tennessee's "Catholic Day on the Hill," and Bp. Kurtz's piety was obvious and striking.

Louisville badly needs an infusion of piety...their priests are in need of discipline, and the laity are begging for encouragement, especially adults 18 - 40.

May God bring Bishop Kurtz to a larger field of faithful for him to tend, and may He provide Knoxville with a man worthy of filling his shoes.

Tony Blair is pro-choice and his wife a huge supporter of abortion rights.

Let's hope he doesn't become a Catholic deacon and confuse the public even more about what Catholicism stands for.
